This somewhat unusual Fairey Huntsman 28, hull 90, has a single Mermaid Turbo Plus 250hp engine.

The engine was purchased brand new in 2019 at a cost of £7500, the trailer was also new at the time. Prop shaft and propeller are also new. The boat comes with a selection of original fittings.

​

 

She was shipped new in 1966 to Mr Rownan in Thames Estuary and was the second Huntsman 28 he purchased from Fairey.  She was used by Mr Rownan as a flush deck triple cockpit speedboat offering thrill rides off the beach. See photo.

While she is now single engine, she was at one time a twin engine boat.

​

 

At one time she gave sterling service as a bass fishing boat working out of Weymouth.

​

 

A great deal of good work has been completed, the hull is sound and epoxy coated, the deck and cabin structure are new.

​

 

There is still a great deal of work to do and ideally she would be suited to a 'seasoned hand' that has previously undertaken a Fairey rebuild.
