Sandpiper of Itchenor, built in Cowes by RW Clark, she is a scaled down Moreland 38. Having spent most of the last 50 years undercover, she is in remarkably good shape for her age.  ^ MOreland 38's were built and 2 survive, at 28ft, this boat is unique and benefits from a robust set of engineering under the deck.

Sometimes credited to Colin Mudie, but also likely to have had input from Bernard Olesinski who was in house designer at R W Clark at the time.

1966 Cowes - Torquay race - retired after stbd engine fire

1967 Cowes - Torquay race - retired after hitting a baulk of timber

1968 Cowes - Torquay race - 10th overall and 3rd in Class, won Concours D'elegance

1969 Cowes - Torquay race - 29th overall, 6th in Class

Mid to late 60's that's a very impressive race provenance.
